Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fine Arts Curator to join our dynamic team in Motherwell. The ideal candidate will have a rich background in fine arts, adept in curatorial practices while leading exhibitions and programmes that engage and inspire the community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the curation of exhibitions that reflect contemporary issues and enrich community engagement.
  • Establish relationships with artists, collectors, and institutions to strengthen the organisation's network.
  • Utilize social media and online platforms to engage a wider audience.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for the arts programme.
  • Evaluate and report on exhibitions and programming success.
  • Foster partnerships with schools and educational institutions to cultivate young artists.
  • Provide artistic guidance and support to emerging and established artists.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all exhibitions.
  • Engage with visitors through tours and discussions to enhance their understanding of the artwork.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay informed on curatorial trends.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Fine Arts or Art Management
  • Further qualification in a related area is an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in arts management or exhibition curation activities
