Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Cardiff team. You will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining coverage amounts while ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the insurance industry and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data and trends to guide underwriting decisions and pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with legal advisors to ensure policies adhere to regulations.
• Assist in developing training materials for junior underwriters.
• Participate in continuous professional development to stay updated on industry changes.
• Create and maintain underwriting documentation and records accurately.
• Engage in client meetings to provide expert advice on coverage options.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Economics
• Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in the insurance industry

Technical Skills

• Insurance software proficiency
• Financial analysis

Certifications

• Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)
• Underwriting Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
