Job Description

The role of Health and Safety Officer involves ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the workplace. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, managing safety audits, and developing health and safety policies to promote a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into workplace accidents.
  • Compile and analyse health and safety data for reporting purposes.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Coordinate emergency response training and drills.
  • Review and update safety policies regularly to ensure compliance.
  • Engage with external regulatory bodies as required.
  • Implement health promotion and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall safety culture within the organisation.

Advantageous

  • Experience in a public sector organisation: Previous work experience in the public sector relating to health and safety.
  • Training in Mental Health Awareness: Knowledge and training in mental health issues and how to support employees.
