Job Description

As a Scowman, you will be responsible for the safe operation of scows, managing the loading and unloading of cargo, and ensuring all procedures comply with maritime regulations. A strong maritime knowledge combined with practical experience is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure scows are loaded/unloaded correctly and securely.
  • Conduct regular checks and maintain safety equipment onboard.
  • Report any issues or irregularities in vessel operations promptly.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with maritime regulations and technologies.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate cargo schedules.
  • Develop a strong understanding of local waterways to optimise navigation.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant maritime qualification preferred.
Experience
  • Experience with operating scow engines and cargo securing techniques preferred.
