Geographer (Glaciologist)

Job Description

We are in search of a dedicated Geographer with a focus on glaciology to join our research team. This role involves studying glaciers, their characteristics, and interactions with climate change, whilst contributing to both research and public understanding.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analysis of satellite imagery and aerial surveys.
• Work with geospatial databases to manage and interpret complex data.
• Conduct surveys and mapping of glacial landscapes.
• Advise on the implications of glacial changes for freshwater resources.
• Collaborate on grant writing for funding opportunities.
• Supervise field assistants and students during research expeditions.

Advantageous

• Experience with expedition planning: Ability to effectively plan and coordinate field expeditions.
• Public speaking experience: Comfortable presenting research to various audiences, including non-scientists.
