Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and have a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing ledgers, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
  • Analyse financial data and prepare reports for management.
  • Support the Finance Manager in strategic financial planning.
  • Manage fixed asset and inventory accounting.
  • Review financial results and investigate variances.
  • Prepare for audits and respond to auditor requests.
  • Assist in implementing financial software upgrades.
  • Participate in special projects or analyses as required.
  • Act as a point of contact for bank and financial institution liaising.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master's degree is a plus
Experience
  • 3-5 years in an accounting or finance role
