A Dockmaster oversees the operations of a dock, ensuring its safe and efficient operation. They are responsible for coordinating the movement of cargo, vessels, and personnel, as well as managing the maintenance and repair of the dock.
Responsibilities
Ensure safe and efficient berthing of vessels at the dock.
Monitor dock operations to meet financial targets and KPIs.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with port users.
Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments.
Manage the allocation of berths and resources at the port.
Implement best practices for dock management and operations.
Supervise and support the dock operations team.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification in dock or marine operations (preferred)
Experience
At least 2-3 years of experience in dock or marine operations is required.
