Job Description

As a Collection Development Librarian, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our library's resources. Your expertise will be key in evaluating existing collections and acquiring new materials that meet the evolving needs of our users.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of library resources.
  • Manage budgets related to collection development and maintain financial accountability.
  • Foster relationships with vendors and publishers to negotiate favorable terms.
  • Engage in outreach activities to promote library resources to students and faculty.
  • Utilize technology to enhance cataloging and resource retrieval.
  • Create training materials and workshops to educate library staff on new acquisitions and resources.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
  • Master's degree in Library Science is preferred
Experience
  • Prior experience in library collection development is essential.
