Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Birmingham team. In this role, you will evaluate insurance applications and risks, ultimately determining coverage options and premiums. Ideal candidates will have experience in assessing risk and making informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed assessments of insurance applications to make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Evaluate the financial history and other relevant factors to ensure sound risk management.
  • Prepare reports on underwriting activities and present findings to senior management.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of underwriting practices with business objectives.
  • Proactively manage relationships with brokers and clients to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Risk Management, or related field
  • Master’s degree or specialized underwriting qualifications are beneficial
Experience
  • 5+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in commercial insurance
