Job Description

We're on the lookout for an Environmental Compliance Officer to join our Leicester team. The role involves ensuring that the company adheres to environmental regulations and standards while promoting sustainable practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of environmental laws and the ability to implement best practices in compliance strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organisation's activities comply with relevant environmental laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance effectiveness.
  • Prepare environmental compliance reports for internal use and regulatory submission.
  • Promote sustainable practices within the organisation through training and awareness campaigns.
  • Coordinate with departments to integrate environmental considerations into operational processes.
  • Advise on environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain the company's environmental policy documents.
  • Engage with external stakeholders for compliance-related matters.
  • Lead discussions on sustainability initiatives within the organisation.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies or related field
  • Master's degree in Environmental Policy preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance or sustainability roles

  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Policy Advocacy Experience: Prior experience in lobbying for environmental policies is advantageous.
