Job Description

As a Hogshead Hooper, you'll be integral to our operation, handling specific tasks related to the management and operation of hogshead hoops. Your role includes performing hooping operations, inspecting and assessing hogsheads prior to hooping, and ensuring quality control.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hooping operations on hogsheads according to established procedures.
  • Inspect and assess the condition of hogsheads prior to hooping.
  • Maintain hooping equipment and ensure its proper functioning.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to safety guidelines during hooping operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain to ensure availability of materials.
  • Maintain documentation and records of hooping activities.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of work area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance hooping processes.
  • Assist in training new hires on hooping techniques and procedures.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Prior experience in a similar role preferred.

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in cooperage: Prior experience working in a cooperage or woodworking environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of barrel-making techniques: Familiarity with traditional barrel-making techniques is a plus.
  • Machinery experience: Experience using hooping machinery and tools.
