Job Description

As an Appellate Conferee, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and processing appeals from individuals and organizations aiming to overturn previous legal decisions. Your expertise in evaluating evidence and interpreting laws will be essential in providing detailed recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Review appeal documentation meticulously to ascertain eligibility for further evaluation.
  • Engage in comprehensive legal research to support assessments and recommendations.
  • Draft clear and concise reports outlining findings and suggested actions.
  • Attend meetings to articulate recommendations and support proposed actions.
  • Work alongside legal teams to ensure adherence to procedural standards.
  • Keep detailed records of case developments and updates.
  • Monitor legislative changes that could impact the appellate process.
  • Assist appellants by offering insights into the appellate procedure.
  • Ensure timely communication of decisions to all relevant parties.
  • Propose improvements to the appeals process based on observations and experiences.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or related field
  • Master's degree in Law is preferred
Experience
  • Experience working in a legal environment, specifically within appellate law is advantageous.
