Roads Superintendent

Job Description

The Roads Superintendent plays a crucial role in managing all responsibilities associated with the maintenance and construction of roads. This includes overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to the necessary safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead road construction and maintenance projects from conception to completion.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and contractors.
• Develop and manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure all project activities are compliant with UK regulations.
• Ensure proper training and supervision of team members.
• Evaluate project performance and suggest improvements.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends and best practices.
• Facilitate communication between project stakeholders.
• Ensure that all project documentation is maintained accurately.
• Conduct post-project evaluations and provide feedback for future projects.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Chartered Engineer status is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in road infrastructure projects, including leadership roles.

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Quality Assurance

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with BIM software: Familiarity with Building Information Modeling for construction projects.
• Previous experience in public sector projects: Experience working with local authorities on road projects.
