Dragline Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Dragline Mechanic to join our dedicated team. As a Dragline Mechanic, your primary responsibilities will include performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on dragline equipment to ensure optimal operation. You will diagnose issues, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and conduct safety checks to comply with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative maintenance on dragline machinery.
• Troubleshoot and fix complex mechanical and hydraulic issues.
• Perform safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Document maintenance activities and report on equipment condition.
• Assist in training junior mechanics on best practices.
• Research and recommend improvements to maintenance processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise performance.
• Utilise computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) effectively.
• Participate in safety meetings and maintain certification.
• Engage in continuous professional development to keep skills current.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant mechanical qualification or apprenticeship
• HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in heavy machinery maintenance

Technical Skills

• Welding expertise

• Effective communication

Certifications

• Health and Safety certification
• Forklift operation certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
