Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Building Surveyor to join our expanding team in Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough surveys, advising on construction and property issues, and ensuring compliance with building regulations. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a range of surveying services, developing effective strategies for property management, and providing expert guidance to clients.

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed assessments and surveys of buildings.
• Draft comprehensive reports summarising your findings.
• Guide clients on property maintenance and management.
• Advocate for sustainable practices in the surveying process.
• Create and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct market analysis to inform pricing and bidding strategies.
• Assist in the negotiation of contracts and agreements.
• Ensure all surveying practices are aligned with industry standards.
• Take responsibility for health and safety compliance during surveys.
• Engage in continual professional development to enhance surveying skills.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, or related field
• RICS membership is highly desirable

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in building surveying or related field

Technical Skills

• Asset Management Knowledge
• Understanding of Planning Permissions

Certifications

• Professional Membership of RICS
• Qualified Building Surveyor

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Understanding of Sustainable Building Practices: Knowledge in green building certifications such as BREEAM.
• Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM): Experience working with BIM for projects and design.
