Responsibilities

• Set up operating rooms for surgery and ensure all necessary equipment is operational.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and prepping for surgical procedures.
• Manage surgical instruments and ensure their cleanliness and functionality.
• Document procedural data and assist in post-operative care.
• Work closely with surgeons to anticipate their needs during procedures.
• Educate and guide new surgical team members on protocols and practices.
• Stay updated with the latest surgical techniques and technology.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Utilize EHR systems to enter patient information and procedural data.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a recognised Surgical Technician programme
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred
• BLS Certification required

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
