Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Lip Reading Teacher to develop and deliver effective lip reading programs for middle school students with hearing difficulties. The ideal candidate will focus on creating supportive learning environments and assessing students’ progress while collaborating with staff to enhance educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individual learning needs.
  • Create a positive learning atmosphere conducive to student success.
  • Utilise diverse teaching methods to cater to all learning styles.
  • Work closely with other team members to facilitate effective learning experiences.
  • Evaluate and adapt instructional materials for effectiveness.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's performance.
  • Initiate community outreach programs to raise awareness of lip reading.
  • Attend and contribute to training sessions and workshops.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff or teaching assistants.
  • Implement innovative techniques in teaching lip reading.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or similar
  • Master's degree in Education is an advantage
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with hearing-impaired individuals
