Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Autism Tutor to work closely with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will employ a range of teaching techniques and strategies to provide effective and individualized support.

Responsibilities

  • Create tailored interventions to address the specific needs of each student.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies for behaviour management.
  • Evaluate student performance and recommend adjustments to learning plans.
  • Provide support in academic subjects as needed.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and a love of learning.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about ASD.
  • Support transitions for students moving between educational settings.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related fields
  • Relevant certifications in ASD preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with ASD students

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Fluency in British Sign Language (BSL): Ability to communicate effectively with hearing-impaired students.
