Reforestation Worker

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Reforestation Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planting and nurturing trees in various locations to help combat climate change and promote ecological sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the selection of appropriate sites for tree planting.
• Assist in the preparation of planting materials and tools.
• Conduct soil and site assessments to identify suitable planting conditions.
• Provide support and training to new team members in planting techniques.
• Engage with local community members to raise awareness about reforestation.
• Document all activities for reporting and project evaluation.
• Assist in the design and implementation of planting schemes.
• Ensure equipment and tools are maintained and used safely.
• Collaborate on research and development of sustainable practices.
• Assist in the maintenance of tree nurseries as required.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant training in environmental science or agriculture is a plus.

Experience

• Experience in tree planting and land management is beneficial.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of local flora and fauna
• Software proficiency

Soft Skills

• Leadership

Certifications

• Certification in environmental management (desirable)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Chainsaw certification: Certification in safe chainsaw operation.
• Experience in ecological research: Knowledge of research methods in ecology would be beneficial.
