Digital Forensics Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Digital Forensics Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, investigating, and resolving cyber incidents, while implementing proactive security measures to prevent future threats.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations into security breaches and data losses.
• Collaborate with law enforcement on legal investigations as required.
• Assist in the development of incident response playbooks and guidelines.
• Utilize forensic tools to collect and analyse data from compromised systems.
• Provide recommendations on security enhancements based on findings.
• Engage in regular training to keep skills sharp and knowledge up-to-date.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly regarded.

Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a focus on incident response and forensics.

Technical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell)
• Knowledge of network security technologies (e.g. firewalls, IDS/IPS)
• Experience with incident response tools (e.g. Splunk, Carbon Black)

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in cloud security (e.g. AWS, Azure).: Familiarity with securing cloud environments and services.
• Prior experience with compliance standards (e.g. GDPR, NIST).: Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks affecting cybersecurity.
