Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Animal Care Coordinator to join our Basildon team. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of animal care, ensuring the well-being of our animals and supporting our staff in providing top-notch care.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to animal care.
• Monitor animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns promptly.
• Assist in the assessment of potential adoption candidates.
• Support volunteer training and engagement initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Zoology or Animal Sciences is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in animal shelter or veterinary practice

Technical Skills

• Behavioural Analysis

Soft Skills

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Pet First Aid Certification
• Certified Animal Care Technician

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with rescue and rehabilitation of animals: Hands-on experience working with rescue organisations and rehabilitating animals.
• Grant writing experience: Experience in writing and acquiring funding for animal welfare projects.
