Job Description

The Sexual Assault Counselor will provide crucial support to survivors, helping them navigate the complexities of trauma recovery. This role requires a compassionate individual with strong interpersonal skills to empower clients in their healing journey.

Responsibilities

  • Offer therapeutic interventions to help clients process their experiences.
  • Facilitate client empowerment through education and support.
  • Work closely with law enforcement and legal representatives when necessary.
  • Participate in case management and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Stay updated on best practices in trauma-informed care.
  • Contribute to the development of community education programs.
  • Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for clients.
  • Assist with documentation for funding and grant reporting purposes.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
Experience
  • Experience working with victims of sexual assault is essential.
