Job Description

As an Umpire or Referee, you will play a vital role in the assessment and ranking of competitors in equestrian events. You will ensure that all competitions are executed in compliance with established rules and guidelines. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the success of our events.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and rank horses and riders during competitions.
  • Collaborate with fellow officials to uphold competition integrity.
  • Utilize timing systems and video replays to ensure accurate results.
  • Communicate race results effectively to the public and media.
  • Guide stewards on regulatory compliance and safety requirements.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training sessions.

Requirements

Education
  • British Horse Society Stage 3 or equivalent qualification
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Placing Judge or in a similar role.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of equestrian regulations
  • Excellent judgment skills
Soft Skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Advantageous

  • Experience in multiple equestrian disciplines: Knowledgeable in show jumping, dressage, and eventing.
  • Experience officiating at National or International events: Familiar with high-level competition standards and requirements.
