Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Birmingham team. In this role, you will provide expert financial guidance and support to a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Implement new accounting software and systems.
• Conduct variance analysis and report findings.
• Work closely with the finance team to streamline reporting processes.
• Develop risk management strategies associated with client accounts.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated.
• Facilitate internal audits and compliance assessments.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• MBA in Finance preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance roles

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel Skills
• Accounting Software (Sage, QuickBooks)

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• ACCA
• CIMA

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• CPA Certification: Possessing a CPA qualification will be advantageous.
