Job Description

As a Tiller Man, you will play a crucial role in safely steering and navigating our boats while ensuring an enjoyable experience for our passengers. You will work closely with the captain and the crew, operating navigation equipment and responding to course adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Steer the vessel safely, adjusting course as necessary.
  • Regularly check navigation instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with emergency drills and respond to safety incidents.
  • Provide updates on navigational progress to the captain.
  • Inspect and maintain communication and navigation equipment.
  • Engage with passengers, providing information about the journey.
  • Help with equipment loading and unloading on the vessel.
  • Assist in the training of new crew members in navigation basics.
  • Document daily activities and navigation logs.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service throughout the journey.

Requirements

Education
  • Valid STCW95 Basic Safety Training certification
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats certificate
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Tiller Man or similar role.
