Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT)

Job Description

As a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT), you will play an essential role in assisting ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to patients. You'll be involved in conducting eye examinations, performing specialized tests, and ensuring the smooth operation of ophthalmic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual acuity, visual field testing, and tonometry assessments.
• Assist in anterior and posterior segment imaging and diagnostic procedures.
• Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
• Document all patient interactions and results accurately.
• Coordinate with surgical teams to prepare for procedures and follow up post-operatively.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all procedures.
• Engage in training and development to maintain and improve skills in ophthalmology.
• Support the team in enhancing patient experience and satisfaction.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in ophthalmic medical assisting or related field
• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred

Experience

• Minimum 2 years in ophthalmology or related healthcare role.
