Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Music Therapy Assistant to join our team in Kilmarnock. The successful candidate will support the delivery of music therapy sessions, helping individuals express themselves through music and improve their emotional, social, and cognitive skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic activities under the guidance of the music therapist.
• Aid in developing personalized treatment plans based on client needs.
• Participate in training and development activities to enhance therapeutic skills.
• Assist in the preparation of reports for clinical assessments.
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment for all clients.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant qualification in Music or Music Therapy

Experience

• Experience working in health and social care settings

• Instrument Proficiency

Certifications

• First Aid and CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Music Technology: Experience using music technology tools and software to enhance therapy sessions.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting: Experience working in hospitals, clinics, or care facilities.
