Job Description

As a Psychiatric Technician (PT), you will play a pivotal role in assisting mental health professionals in diagnosing and treating patients with various psychiatric disorders. Your responsibilities will include providing direct care, monitoring patient behaviours, and supporting treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in direct patient care and rehabilitation efforts.
  • Support crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
  • Regularly assess and report on patient conditions.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists to tailor treatment plans for individuals.
  • Implement and document individual therapeutic strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and the wider treatment team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in staff meetings and share insights on patient progress.
  • Conduct wellness checks and facilitate group therapy sessions.
  • Engage with community resources to support patient recovery.

Requirements

Education
  • Training in Mental Health Treatment Modalities
  • Certification in Crisis Intervention Techniques
Experience
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations is preferred
