Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Petrographer to join our team. The Petrographer will be responsible for analysing and interpreting rock samples to identify their mineral composition, texture, and geological history. This role involves using specialized laboratory equipment and conducting various tests to ensure accurate results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct petrographic analysis and produce comprehensive reports on rock samples.
• Utilise various analytical techniques to ensure precise identification of mineral content.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop geological models based on findings.
• Engage in fieldwork to collect samples and support geological surveys.
• Assist in training junior staff on laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• Document activities in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss research progress and findings.
• Implement quality control measures to enhance laboratory operations.
• Work on special projects that require detailed geological analysis and reporting.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Petrology
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant work experience in geological analysis.
