Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dog Raiser to join our team. As a Dog Raiser, your primary responsibility will be nurturing and training dogs from a young age, preparing them for potential service or therapy work. This role requires a deep understanding of canine behaviour along with a commitment to fostering a safe and stimulating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper nutrition and care routines for developing dogs.
  • Establish training plans that are practical and supportive of the dogs' needs.
  • Encourage positive social interactions in varied environments.
  • Continuously evaluate and report on the dogs' training progress.
  • Foster an engaging and safe environment to support physical activity.
  • Collaborate with veterinary professionals for health assessments.
  • Keep meticulous records of training milestones and health check-ups.
  • Engage with potential clients and handlers to discuss individual dogs’ progress.
  • Follow all relevant legislations regarding animal welfare.
  • Commit to further training and education in animal behaviour and training.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications or courses in dog training or animal behaviour are preferred
Experience
  • Experience in raising or training dogs, especially service or therapy animals.

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Knowledge of Clicker Training: Familiarity with clicker training techniques or similar positive reinforcement methods.
