Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer to join our Newcastle-based team. The successful candidate will be pivotal in designing and assessing structures, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. You will work collaboratively with architects and clients to bring innovative projects to fruition.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings and specifications for construction.
• Perform calculations to ensure structural integrity.
• Review contractor submissions to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Participate in the planning of construction schedules and budgets.
• Promote sustainable design practices within team projects.
• Act as a mentor for interns and trainee engineers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Postgraduate qualifications are preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural design projects

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Construction Management Software

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Critical Thinking

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Civil Engineering Technician (CET)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Project Management: Experience managing projects from inception to completion.
• Advanced software skills in Rhino or similar: Skills in advanced modelling software for structural designs.
