Job Description

The Trestle Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of railway trestles and bridges. Collaborating with engineers, they will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, reliability, and structural integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of railway structures to maintain safety.
  • Repair trestles and bridges as per engineering specifications.
  • Schedule maintenance activities and manage work orders.
  • Provide technical support and expertise during projects.
  • Maintain work area and tools in a clean and safe manner.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance processes.
  • Assist in training junior staff on safety and operational procedures.
  • Engage in problem-solving to address maintenance challenges.
  • Assist in project planning for bridge upgrades and replacements.
  • Document all work performed in compliance with company policies.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, particularly with railway structures.
