Job Description
As a Whale Fisherman, you will be responsible for safely navigating and operating fishing vessels to catch whales for commercial purposes. Your role will involve collaborating with a team and adhering to ethical guidelines and fishing regulations.
Responsibilities
Safely navigate and operate fishing vessels for whale harvesting.
Utilize GPS and sonar systems to locate whales effectively.
Ensure compliance with all ethical fishing practices and regulations.
Assist in the safe deployment and retrieval of fishing gear.
Document and report any notable wildlife encounters and environmental conditions.
Participate in training sessions on marine conservation and safety.
Maintain the vessel’s cleanliness and operational readiness at all times.
Requirements
Education
Relevant training in marine conservation is a plus
Experience
Experience in whale or marine mammal research is advantageous.
