Woodworking Machine Setter, Operator, and Tender

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Woodworking Machine Setter, Operator, and Tender to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining woodworking machinery to shape and mould wood according to specific designs. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of woodworking techniques are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate woodworking machines to ensure optimum performance.
• Conduct regular inspections of wood materials to ensure quality and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to enhance production flow.
• Document production processes, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in inventory management for materials and supplies.
• Participate in safety drills and uphold workplace safety standards.
• Adhere to quality control measures throughout the production process.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
• Provide feedback on machine performance and workflow efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational training in woodworking or manufacturing is preferred

Experience

• Experience with custom woodworking projects is an advantage

Technical Skills

• Wood finishing techniques
• CNC machine operation

Certifications

• Relevant safety certifications

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience with wood finishing techniques: Knowledge of staining, varnishing, and other finishing processes.
