Narrow Gauge Brakeman

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Narrow Gauge Brakeman to join our team. The Brakeman will be responsible for operating and maintaining the braking system on narrow gauge trains to ensure safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the braking system and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct inspections of brake systems, ensuring all parts are functioning correctly.
• Assist in the training of new staff on operational procedures.
• Manage communications with the driver to coordinate safe train movements.
• Document and report maintenance work and service disruptions as required.
• Stay updated with health and safety regulations and protocol changes.
• Engage in emergency drills and safety meetings to stay prepared.
• Contribute to team discussions on improving operational efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Valid UK driver's license (Category B)
• Certification in railway operations is preferred

Experience

• Experience in a railway environment is a plus.
