Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant and System Operator to join our team. The individual will be responsible for operating fire tender vehicles, responding to emergency situations, and supporting firefighting operations. The successful candidate will have proven experience in the field, an excellent attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Drive fire tender to incident locations in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist in setting up and operating fire hoses and extinguishers.
• Ensure proper maintenance of fire tender and equipment.
• Perform regular safety checks on equipment and report any defects.
• Communicate with Fire Captain and other personnel during emergency situations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of emergency services.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Fire Captain.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness and readiness.
• Assist in public education programs related to fire safety.

Requirements

Education

• Valid UK driver's license and clean driving record
• Advanced Firefighter Certification preferred

Experience

• Experience operating and maintaining fire tender vehicles.

• GPS and Mapping Software
• Health and Safety Regulations

Certifications

• HAZMAT Operations Certification
• Firefighter 1 Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with disaster response: Hands-on experience in managing large-scale emergency incidents.
• Knowledge of CBRN response procedures: Understanding of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear emergency procedures.
