Job Description

As a Psychiatric Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with mental health issues. You'll assist in daily activities, providing compassionate care, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to enhance patient well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the development and execution of individualized patient care plans.
  • Lead recreational and therapeutic group activities under supervision.
  • Perform basic medical tasks, such as monitoring vital signs.
  • Document patient progress and emotional well-being accurately.
  • Engage with family members to support patient care.
  • Adhere to confidentiality and patient privacy standards.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and support de-escalation efforts.
  • Encourage patients to express their thoughts and feelings.
  • Help implement safety protocols within the facility.
  • Collaborate with the team in maintaining a positive work environment.

Requirements

Education
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Health and Social Care is advantageous
  • Relevant certifications in Mental Health Support preferred
Experience
  • Experience working with mental health patients is a plus
