We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Local Vet Clinic in Newcastle. The ideal candidate should possess a strong veterinary background, a commitment to animal care, and the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostic tests and interpret results accurately.
• Maintain a clean and safe practice environment.
• Provide emergency care for sick or injured animals.
• Contribute to a positive team culture within the clinic.
• Participate in continuing education to further veterinary skills.
• Help mentor junior staff and veterinary students.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
• Advanced surgical training preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in a veterinary surgical role

Technical Skills

• Anaesthesia management
• Client education

Soft Skills

• Team leadership
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Advanced veterinary practice diploma (AVP)
• Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in emergency veterinary care: Ability to handle emergency cases efficiently and effectively.
• Proficiency in ultrasound technology: Skilled in using ultrasound for diagnostic processes.
