Job Description
As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of ophthalmologists and optometrists. Your responsibilities will include both administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
Assist in performing eye exams and tests under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
Ensure patient comfort and safety during examinations.
Handle patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical supplies and equipment.
Assist in training new staff and interns as needed.
Stay updated with the latest ophthalmic procedures and technologies.
Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care and service improvements.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an ophthalmic technician program is preferred
Experience
1-2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant
Technical Skills
Understanding of eye anatomy and common eye conditions
Soft Skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certifications
BLS Certification
Languages
English: Fluent
Advantageous
Experience with patient education: Demonstrated ability to educate patients on eye health and treatment options.
Experience with contact lens fitting: Knowledge and experience in fitting patients for contact lenses.
