Job Description

As a Valve Pipe Irrigator, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing irrigation systems and pumps. This role is essential in ensuring that agricultural operations run smoothly, enabling optimal water management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments on existing irrigation systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Train new staff on equipment operation and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Report any significant issues or deficiencies to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge in irrigation systems.
  • Assist in the development of efficient irrigation strategies.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification in irrigation preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with irrigation systems is essential
Technical Skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot irrigation systems
  • Basic computer skills
Soft Skills
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certifications
  • Relevant health and safety training certifications
  • Valid driver's license
Languages
  • English: Fluent
