Job Description

As the Vehicle Maintenance Unit Commanding Officer, you will oversee the entire vehicle maintenance and repair operations within the unit. You will lead a dedicated team of mechanics and technicians, ensure compliance with safety standards, and coordinate maintenance schedules to maximize vehicle availability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of all vehicles ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Prepare budgets for maintenance operations.
  • Lead and mentor the mechanical team to improve skills and performance.
  • Schedule and conduct audits of the maintenance process.
  • Interface with suppliers and vendors for parts procurement.
  • Implement effective maintenance strategies to reduce downtime.
  • Manage emergency repairs and unexpected vehicle issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Report to senior management on productivity and performance metrics.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in automotive technology or a related field
  • Professional certification in vehicle maintenance and repair
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
