Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Animal Welfare Officer to oversee the health and safety of animals in our care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal welfare, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in animal care or veterinary practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities related to animal care and maintenance.
  • Conduct assessments and monitor behaviour of animals in the shelter.
  • Facilitate educational workshops to inform the public about proper animal care.
  • Manage relationships with local shelters and rescues to collaborate on welfare initiatives.
  • Assist in crisis situations involving animals and authorities.
  • Promote adoption programmes and responsible pet ownership.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Veterinary Science or related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications in animal welfare or related area preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of working with animals in a welfare or veterinary setting
