Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Officer to help implement and manage health improvement initiatives across Bradford. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other health professionals, community organisations, and stakeholders to address public health concerns and promote health awareness.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate health interventions and outreach activities.
• Assess community health status through surveys and data analysis.
• Advocate for health policies that promote community wellbeing.
• Collaborate with local schools and businesses to encourage public health practices.
• Conduct training for public health staff and volunteers.
• Develop educational materials for community distribution.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or relevant field
• Master's degree in Public Health or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in community health or public health roles

Technical Skills

• Epidemiology
• Grant writing

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Interpersonal skills

Certifications

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)
• First Aid and CPR Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficient in statistical software: Experience with software such as SPSS or R for data analysis.
• Experience with community outreach: Focused on enhancing community engagement through outreach initiatives.
