Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Insurance Underwriter to manage numerous insurance applications and assess risks for our clients. The ideal candidate will use their analytical skills to evaluate policy applications, determine coverage terms, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and determine risk appetite.
• Underwrite complex accounts with a focus on profitability.
• Review and analyse claims data to inform underwriting decisions.
• Communicate effectively with other teams to ensure service delivery.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss underwriting strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• Engage in continuous learning about new insurance products.
• Support junior underwriters with their professional development.
• Assist in the preparation of reports for stakeholders.
• Review policy documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Professional accreditation is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry with a focus on underwriting

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
