Job Description

The Skip Miner role is crucial for operating advanced machinery to extract minerals from quarries and mines. This position demands monitoring operational efficiency, ensuring safety standards, and collaborating closely with team members to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct operational checks on mining machinery to ensure proper functioning.
  • Lead safety drills and implement emergency protocols.
  • Contribute to the development of operational processes to increase productivity.
  • Assist with the maintenance and logistics of equipment usage.
  • Maintain clear communication lines with other departments regarding material needs and inventory.
  • Prepare and submit reports on machinery performance and production levels.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance.
  • Adhere to quality control standards during the production process.
  • Support the recycling efforts by sorting materials for recovery.

Requirements

Education
  • GCSEs or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience working specifically in mineral extraction is advantageous.
