Responsibilities

• Create and implement effective individualized education plans for students with various needs.
• Assure adaptive teaching practices that cater to students’ strengths and weaknesses.
• Facilitate engaging lessons that promote participation and learning.
• Work closely with parents and caregivers to support student growth and development.
• Implement strategies to manage behaviours and promote a conducive learning environment.
• Leverage technology to support teaching and learning processes.
• Remain informed about changes in special education regulations and methodologies.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage the development of social and interpersonal skills among students.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Special Education is preferred
• Additional training in behaviour management is advantageous

Experience

• Experience in developing and implementing IEPs is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Experience with behaviour management techniques
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

Certifications

• Advanced Behaviour Support Techniques

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA): Techniques that aid in modifying behaviour and teaching skills.
