As a Marine Meteorologist, you will play a vital role in analysing marine weather patterns, creating precise forecasts, and delivering critical information for safe marine operations. Your expertise will aid marine personnel in anticipating weather changes, ensuring operations run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Survey and monitor local weather conditions affecting marine environments.
• Aggregate and evaluate historical weather data for trend analysis.
• Provide training and support on weather awareness to marine operatives.
• Engage in outreach activities by sharing weather knowledge with public stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of predictive models and tools for marine weather forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to marine weather reporting.
• Facilitate workshops on the impact of climate change on marine operations.
• Collaborate closely with naval and coastguard agencies for coordinated weather updates.
• Enhance communication strategies to effectively disseminate weather information.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Marine Science or related field is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in marine meteorology, preferably with direct field experience.
