PACU Nurse (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled PACU Nurse to provide exceptional care for patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This role demands a compassionate healthcare professional with excellent clinical judgement and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patients' vital signs regularly.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies in a calm and efficient manner.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care.
• Implement safety measures to reduce risks in the PACU.
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care.

Requirements

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Completion of an accredited nursing program

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in PACU or critical care nursing

Technical Skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure

Advantageous

• Experience in managing patients with airway and ventilation problems: Knowledge and skills to assess and provide care for patients with respiratory distress.
• Experience in assessing and managing post-operative pain: Expertise in evaluating discomfort and implementing pain management strategies.
