Responsibilities

• Review and analyse insurance applications for coverage.
• Provide recommendations based on risk assessment findings.
• Work closely with brokers and clients to explain policy options.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and guidelines.
• Participate in continuous training to update underwriting skills.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or related field
• Additional qualifications in underwriting or risk management are a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

Technical Skills

• Data analysis
• Decision-making

Soft Skills

• Negotiation skills
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• CII Certified
• Advanced Underwriting Certificate is preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with commercial lines of insurance: Excellent knowledge of commercial insurance underwriting.
• Leadership experience in previous roles: Ability to mentor and lead junior underwriters.
