Job Description
As a Police Crime Scene Technician, you will play a crucial role in collecting and analysing physical evidence at crime scenes. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively under pressure.
Responsibilities
Attend crime scenes promptly to gather evidence.
Perform physical and chemical analysis of collected evidence.
Maintain accurate records of evidence collected and its chain of custody.
Communicate findings effectively to law enforcement personnel.
Work under strict deadlines while ensuring the quality of work remains high.
Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to in all procedures.
Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance.
Collaborate on inter-departmental investigations to share insights.
Assist in managing forensic databases and case files.
Engage in community outreach to educate the public on forensic practices.
Requirements
Education
Degree in Forensic Science, Biology, or Chemistry
Relevant certifications such as Certified Crime Scene Investigator (CCSI)
Experience
Experience in law enforcement or forensic science is preferred.
