Job Description

As a Police Crime Scene Technician, you will play a crucial role in collecting and analysing physical evidence at crime scenes. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Attend crime scenes promptly to gather evidence.
• Perform physical and chemical analysis of collected evidence.
• Maintain accurate records of evidence collected and its chain of custody.
• Communicate findings effectively to law enforcement personnel.
• Work under strict deadlines while ensuring the quality of work remains high.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to in all procedures.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Collaborate on inter-departmental investigations to share insights.
• Assist in managing forensic databases and case files.
• Engage in community outreach to educate the public on forensic practices.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Forensic Science, Biology, or Chemistry
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Crime Scene Investigator (CCSI)

Experience

• Experience in law enforcement or forensic science is preferred.
